Our aim for each project is to:
• maintain shelf list order,
• achieve an even spread of book stock across available shelving,
• ensure provision any required growth space,
• ensure accurate and efficient stock integration and separation as required,
• ensure maximum useability and functionality of library for staff and users.

To achieve these goals our team will meet with the client to discuss details of the move and ascertain the full scope of works. The client will be briefed of our book stock relocation and preparation methodologies. We develop Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Relocation Programmes, Tagging Strategy, and Mapped Shelfing Plans. At the planning stage our team will be invaluable in its guidance in critical variables such as fill ratios, growth rates and stock measuring that allows for accurate collection mapping and tagging.

Library Movers will maintain this order and achieve an even spread of book stock by using a number-coding and tagging method specifically designed for library materials.

On-site we precisely measure each book collection to ascertain total linear metreage and compare this with available shelving capacity in order to calculate accurate fill rates (percentage of space populated with book stock per shelf) for each collection.

Numerical coloured tags are used to allow us to address each individual shelf worth of books to an exact shelf at the new location. Prior to the physical relocation commencing we can prepare shelfing plans indicating specific locations of each collection, including stock flow and fill rates.
